McKinnon follows Crosby's footsteps from Cole Harbour

As we are less than a week away from rolling another month off the calendar, August is the month when most hockey players find themselves ramping things up with most leagues kicking off the schedules in September and October.

In the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League this year there is a buzz gaining momentum with Nathan McKinnon’s highly anticipated appearance with the Halifax Mooseheads. McKinnon is being compared to Sidney Crosby, not just because he is from Cole Harbour, or because he went to Shattuck St.Mary’s last season and played with Team Atlantic in the Canada Games, just like Crosby, but more so because of the overall talent he brings to the ice every time out.  And pardon me for forgetting to mention that McKinnon is being “advised” by Crosby’s agent, Pat Brisson.

This young man is a player most will learn to know about very soon and he will soon be turning heads of his own in the same league that Crosby did not so long ago.

This article by TSN’s Alex J.Walling details the similarities both players share and casts an interesting light on what is sure to be an exciting first season of major junior hockey for Nathan McKinnon.
